Notre Dame Marathon
I know it has been a month. But to get straight to the point, my life is boring. It is hard to take a picture everyday of something that might be interesting. The trip to Notre Dame went well. We traveled all day Friday and got a little lost on our drive from Chicago to South Bend. It is amazing how many people can not give you directions in their own town when you ask them. Saturday was the marathon. There was only 700 marathon runners so it was very small. It was very humid and lots of bugs. I think I swallowed about 10 and they kept sticking to my sweat. Yuck! I saw this man with a Houston shirt on so I talked to him for about 3 miles. I thought for sure I was going to beat by best time but at about mile 23 my quads began to tighten up and I was struggling. I finsihed in 5 hours and 1 minute. As soon as I was done it started to rain, so I was very lucky. After the marathon we grabbed a bite to eat, went to the bookstore, and went to a local minor league baseball game. We headed back on Sunday. Every time I stand there at the start line and say to myself what did I get myself into but once I am done I can't wait to do it again. I want to thank my Dad for going with me and for supporting me. I love you Dad! P.S. That is what I ate after I was finished. Excluding an Awesome Blossom, some rolls and an amazing chocolate dipped ice cream cone from Dairy Queen. BLISS! :)
