McGuire got to go Doggy Daycare today and play with his friends. While there he also got a haircut. Look at the difference. I am not a bad mom but his haircut cost more than mine does. I was holding out as long as possible. He is ready for Summer!

A New Hair-Do (2)
McGuire got to go Doggy Daycare today and play with his friends. While there he also got a haircut. Look at the difference. I am not a bad mom but his haircut cost more than mine does. I was holding out as long as possible. He is ready for Summer!
Bag Packed! (1)
Don't get too exited with all of this updating. It might not be funny or highly entertaining but I figure it will allow me to remember each and every day. How cool! I needed a little Spark to get going so I started off my week with a Monday morning Spin class. It was a good class until I knocked my hand on the bike and about 5 minutes later looked down to see blood everywhere. It took forever for it to stop bleeding. Thank goodness it was almost the end of the class.

Marathon Experience
I know this is late but wanted to give everybody my view of running the Houston Half Marathon. I was told that when you crossed the finish line you would either never want to do it again or couldn't wait to sign up for the next one. I was also told that you get this great feeling once you have crossed the finished line. I was like yeah right it is just a run. How could you get a great feeling after torturing yourself for 13.1 miles? Well you do. I was pretty nervous going in to it. I knew I would finish but worried about having to stop. I told myself over and over again no walking allowed. There are lots of people who walked but I wasn't. It starts off pretty slow you are packed in with thousands of people but eventually it starts to open up and you can get your pace. I found a good pace and just looked for the finish line. It was nice at about mile 9 I had some supporters. Mom, Dad, Dana, Ryan, Kara, Chris and Kate all on the sides cheering me on. I got to pass them twice so I got to hear their cheers twice. Oh and don't let me forget a kiss from McGuire too. I did have time to stop for that. After passing them I realized that I could beat my goal time. I had set a time of 2 hours 15 minutes but wasn't too concerned about reaching it just finishing. The last two miles I picked up the pace to beat my time. At about 1/2 mile outside the finsish line was my other support group. Lee (my trainer who is awesome), Torrey and Angela (two awesome girls I met at the gym) were there cheering me on. It was so great to see them at the end. I came in to the finish line at 2 hours 14 mintues beating my original goal time. How awesome I beat my goal time, received a medal, got a really cool shirt and was surrounded my lots of food in the matter of a minute after the run. I remember meeting up with my friends and saying I can't wait to do it again. Crazy I know. Well I am doing it again. My marathon plan is Nahsville in April, San Antonio in November, Houston again next January and I am doing a full 26.2 miles in Miami in January 2010!
Much needed update!
I know I have had lack of blogging. But I recently have received some complaints (Marsha and Rebekah) about not blogging so I figured I would get back on it. I do need to post some pics of my trip to Notre Dame. I promise I will do it. Life here has been pretty good. No complaints. January brought the marathon, March brought the rodeo. Thanks to Kara I got to go twice to see Keith Urban and Taylor Swift. Two really great perfomers. March also brought Spring Break! I didn't do anything exciting but it was a nice break from the daily routine. I am looking forward to April. I am going to Nashville to run the Country Music half marathon. What fun! I have been focused on training for that and looking forward to the challenge. It is hard to update when there are no kids to show how big they have gotten or their accomplishments. I mean McGuire is totally awesome but is alreay finished growing and he has mastered being a lap dog! I promise to do better with this whole blog thing!

Notre Dame
What a whirlwind of a weekend. We arrived in Chicago Friday morning and drove into South Bend, Indiana home of the Fighting Irish. We were welcomed to Indiana with snow. I mean lots of snow, more than I have ever seen. We spent the day Friday looking at the campus and then going to the pep rally. We ventured out to some local bars that night. On Saturday we went back to campus to check out some more sights and then to the game. We arrived at the stadium and found our seats. The bleachers were covered in snow. Our feet sat in snow for the whole game. Nothing could prepare us for how cold it was. I think the temperature was about 21 or 22 degrees. It was freezing. We shivered through the whole game and found that the bathrooms had heaters so several trips to the bathroom were needed to defrost. It was an amazing experience despite the cold and the score. We ended up losing the game but to get to do something I have always dreamed about it made up for it.

I am still alive!
Where have I been? Not too sure. I finally got settled in to the new place with new couches. It was a pain to get the couches delivered but I finally got them. I'll first update the weight loss game. Well it has been ok. Learning to accept that this if forever has been hard. I have been really getting to eating more of what I want and working out and maintaining. I would like to lose about 10 pounds to be totally happy but it has been hard. Well I can't say really hard because I haven't really been eating right. I continue to go to they gym. I enjoy the gym more than I ever thought possible. It becomes addicting. I guess if I am going to be addicted to something the gym should be it. I thought the other day about how long I have been doing this. On December 29 it will be a whole year. That is crazy. I can't believe that I have put my mind to something for almost a year. I have to think about how some people can't even do it for a month. So I have set a goal for December 29th. I want to get these 10 pounds off by then. All along the way I have set little goals and figured setting another one would be helpful. I also thought the other day how blessed I am to have met so many different people. By going to the gym and weight watchers I have met so many different people that have been so encouraging. I had a lady stop me yesterday at weight watchers to tell me how inspiring I was. Inspiring??? It makes me keep going when I hear things like that. So you never know who is watching and listening to you and what difference you are making in their lives. Well I will be better about updating the blog. I am going to a Notre Dame football game in 2 weeks. Everybody knows that all my life I have been dreaming of doing this. This is my ultimate Make a Wish trip and I can't wait. I will post pics when I get back.
